American SUV-maker Jeep has revealed a new SUV concept for the Shanghai motor show badged the Yuntu. Expected to preview a future seven-seat SUV for the Chinese market, the Yuntu shows some common styling elements with the previously leaked Jeep K8 SUV, though the styling changes to the front and rear hint at the concept being a separate model.

The Yuntu concept features sleek strip-like LED headlamps and tail-lamps, along with prominent creases running across the front fascia and tail-gate. The light cluster also features air vents along the lower edge while the grille up front seems to be a solid one piece unit. The concept also features prominent squared-off wheel arches with larger wheels, PHEV badging on the doors, neatly integrated door handles and from the design, the concept also features suicide doors and a futuristic looking interior.

As with the badging, the Yuntu will feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain which could likely pair a 3.6-litre V6 petrol motor with two electric motors. The Yuntu concept will be shown to the general public for the first time at the Shanghai motor show with a production model based on the concept expected sometime next year.
