The Indian subsidiary of Korean carmaker Hyundai today announced a recall of its Eon hatchback to inspect the issue of “clutch cable fouling with the battery cable”.

The recall affects 7,657 units of the Eon manufactured in January 2015. The company will get in touch with the affected customers in a phased manner to inspect the issue and replace the battery cable, if found damaged, according to a company statement. The replacement of the cable will be done for free.

Hyundai launched the Eon hatchback in India in 2011 and, although the vehicle hasn’t received any facelifts, new variants with extra features were added to the line-up, a year after the launch. The compact hatch also came with factory-fitted LPG kit.
