On path to aggressively expand its sales and service network, Honda has announced the opening of its 200th dealership in India. Metro Honda was inaugurated in Secunderabad by Hironori Kanayama, president, Honda Cars India.
The company is looking to widen its reach in the existing and new tier III markets, and has also announced plans to add 100 new dealerships in the next 16 months by March 2016. With the opening of the new dealership, Honda now has a network presence of 200 dealerships in 130 cities pan-India.
Honda has been able to register an overall growth of 43 percent during the period April – October 2014, selling 1,01,442 units as against 70,831 units in the corresponding period last year. This makes dealership network expansion even more essential for Honda.
“We are delighted to reach the milestone of 200 dealers in India. Network expansion is a critical part of our larger business goal of achieving sales of 300,000 units per annum by March 2017. As we expand our business in the Indian market, we have to move closer to our customers to be able to provide them with (the) best customer services at nationwide level.” said Kanayama.
