Mercedes has released an official sketch of what will be the new Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé. It will have its world premiere at the Shanghai Motor Show 2015.

Mercedes says the GLC Coupé will be based on the new C-class platform, and that its styling will preview the look of future Mercedes SUVs. From the sketch it looks like it will get a wide, prominent grille and slim head-lamps.

The new GLC Coupé is the second model that Mercedes is offering in the four-door coupé SUV category, and will rival the likes of the BMW X4. Not too many launch details are available as of now, and it is not expected to go on sale internationally, until 2017.

The engine line-up for the Coupé is expected be a selection of petrol and diesel powerplants, like the standard GLC. A plug-in hybrid is also on the cards.
