    Ford introduces doorstep servicing

Ford India has just announced that it will be starting doorstep servicing for its vehicles under the Dial-A-Ford initiative in select cities across India.

    • The doorstep service is being offered at no added cost to customers.
    • Customers have to use the Dial-A-Ford centrally controlled helpline to book the service.
    • It’s is currently available in 19 Indian cities

What all is included in Ford’s doorstep service?

As the name suggests, this new initiative allows Ford customers to book a service for their car, right at their or any other convenient location. This negates the customer’s need to take their car into a service centre, hence preventing the spread of the coronavirus by enabling social distancing. Ford Is offering this service at no added cost to its customers.

Like other doorstep service initiatives, this can be used for regular maintenance and small repairs, with the bigger jobs still being done at the service centre.

How do you book doorstep service and where is it available?

As this initiative comes under the purview of the Dial-A-Ford service, customers can call the centrally controlled helpline to book and select the desired location for the doorstep service.

Currently, Ford is offering this service in a number of cities across India, including Ahmadabad, Aurangabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Noida, Pune, Thane and Trivandrum. With more cities set to join this list in the future.

    What else does Dial-A-Ford offer?

Besides the doorstep servicing, Dial-A-Ford also allows new customers to book a test drive or book a new car and even have it delivered to their doorstep. Existing customers can schedule a car service with doorstep pick-up and drop-off facility. Additionally, customers can also use it to troubleshoot basic car problems.

Which other brands offer doorstep service in India?

Ford is not the first carmaker to offer this service on our market, as Maruti Suzuki’s Service On Wheels, Toyota’s Service Express, Tata’s doorstep MSVs and Hyundai’s door-to-door provide similar services.

What are Ford's model plans for India?

The carmakers is preparing to launch the Figo petrol-automatic by late-August in our market. This will differ from the previous Figo petrol-auto, as this time around the 1.2-litre petrol engine will get a 6-speed torque converter automatic (and not the 1.5-litre petrol like before). The launch of the new Ford Mustang in India is also expected to be in early 2021.
