The 2016 Auto Expo was not just a platform for Maruti to introduce its India-bound models such as the Ignis, Baleno RS and the Vitara Brezza, but also to showcase special-edition models of many of its cars. Part of this list is the limited-edition Ertiga.

Based on the top Z+ trim, the limited-edition Ertiga features a new body kit with extensions to the bumpers and side skirts, and gun-metal alloy wheels. The MPV gets an all-black interior in place of the standard model’s dual-tone interior, and features dual-tone leather seats as well. Added features on the model include a rear seat entertainment package with individual displays and a mini refrigerator. Features such as the SmartPlay infotainment system, reverse parking camera, keyless entry and go and dual airbags are carried forward.

Mechanically, the special-edition Ertiga continues to use the 1.4-litre K-series petrol engine and the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine paired with the company’s SHVS hybrid system, as on the standard car. Both engines are paired to a five-speed manual gearbox.

Currently, the limited-edition Ertiga is a display-only model though our sources tell us that it may enter production soon.

In December 2015, Suzuki showcased a new variant of the Ertiga, called the Ertiga Dreza, in Indonesia. The MPV featured a heavily restyled front end along with the addition of a 9.0-inch touchscreen AVN system with navigation.
