Ford India sells 100,000 EcoSport SUVs

Ford India has announced that its EcoSport SUV has crossed the crucial 100,000 sales mark. This sales figure includes total number of EcoSport SUVs in India and the ones that were exported by the compay. Ford India exports the EcoSport SUV to various markets around the world, including South Africa, Taiwan, Australia and several European countries.

The company has said that there are now more than 60,000 EcoSport owners in India since its date of launch. Commenting on the 100,000 sales milestone, Vinay Piparsania, Ford India's executive director for marketing, sales and service said, “The 100,000 milestone is indeed special to all of us at Ford and further demonstrates the faith customers have in the product.”

Previously, long waiting period for the SUV was one of the factors marring the demand for the EcoSport. However, Ford India has announced its plans to introduce a third shift for production of the EcoSport at its Maraimalainagar facility. This will help Ford to expedite deliveries.
