Mercedes Benz has confirmed that it will expand the E-Class India range by adding a new E 350 CDI model. The new Mercedes E 350 CDI will be launched on September 11, 2014.

We'd told you first, way back in April 2014, that the German luxury carmaker was looking at expanding its updated E-Class India line-up by adding the E 350 CDI model.

The updated E-Class will get both petrol and diesel variants, and a top-of-the-line E 63 AMG variant.

The Mercedes Benz E 350 CDI will get power from a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The new car gets features like Active Lane Keeping Assist, Cross-traffic Assist and a blind spot warning system.

We expect Mercedes to price the E 350 CDI somewhere in the Rs 58 lakh price range.

Mercedes SUVs may get new nomenclature

The new methodology will be on the lines of the C-, E- and S-class badges; GL-class is likely to become GLS.
