Toyota has revealed the prices of its new Corolla Altis diesel which will be launched later today. Prices of the diesel saloon starts from Rs 10.95lakh for the base version, rising up to Rs 13.75 lakh for the top-end version (ex showroom Delhi). The Altis diesel has made its way to the showrooms across India and bookings have commenced with an initial amount of Rs 50,000.

Powered by a 1.4-liter Turbo-D-4D Common-rail diesel unit producing 85.78bhp of max power, the diesel motor is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The power output looks quite meager as compared to the 2.0-litre Skoda Laura which churns out a healthy 138bhp (with a DSG’box) and 110 bhp (manual transmission) from its diesel engine.

Toyota claims an ARAI-certified figure of 21.43kpl, which is very impressive. The only visible exterior difference for the diesel model is that it has a different looking front grill as compared to its petrol variant. Interiors remain mostly the same as the petrol cousin. There have been some minor design tweaks made to make the car more aerodynamic.
