The 2014 Beijing motor show is underway and like every year, we bring you reports on all the new cars and concepts present there.
Stars of the show include the new Volkswagen Golf R400 concept, a mega 395bhp version of the Golf R, and the Mercedes Concept Coupe SUV, which previews the upcoming MLC.
Other highlights include the BMW Vision Future Luxury concept, offering a first look at the next-generation 7-series, and the Audi TT off-road concept, the definitive proof that Audi is intent on expanding its TT family.
Peugeot and Citroen are also out in force at the show; Peugeot is displaying a stunning new sedan concept car called the Exalt, and Citroen is showing a brace of stylish new SUVs including the compact C-XR concept.
SUVs are a major theme of the show, with the new Lexus NX being one of the most boldy styled. Other SUVs include the new Ford Everest, the Hyundai ix25 and a glut of Jeep concepts.
Other significant news at the show includes the return of the Ford Escort name, Porsche’s latest GTS variants of the Boxster and Cayman and the Volkswagen New Midsize Coupe concept, which previews a smaller version of the CC-based Golf.
