BMW has launched the facelifted 3-series GT in India. As with the pre-facelifted model, the updated 3GT gets two diesel options and now gets the addition of a new fully loaded petrol variant. Prices start from Rs 43.3 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the entry level 320d Sport Line and going up to Rs 47.5 lakh for the 330i Luxury Line petrol variant.

The biggest talking point about the car is the new petrol motor. The unit is a more powerful iteration of the 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo unit from the 320i sedan now developing 252hp and 350Nm of torque. The updated 3-series GT is the first model in India to make use of this more powerful 2.0-litre petrol motor. The 190hp 2.0-litre diesel engine from the pre-facelifted model carries forward to the facelifted car. An eight-speed automatic gearbox is standard fitment on all variants. BMW claims a 0-100kph time of 6.1 seconds for the petrol 3GT while the diesel covers the same in 7.7 seconds.

On the cosmetic front, the GT retains most of its styling cues though it now features new bumpers, new headlamps and reprofiled tail-lamps. Updates to the cabin include the use of more chrome, new wood trimming and a larger list of leather upholstery to choose from. The facelift also sees the inclusion of more equipment. Adaptive LED headlamps are now offered as standard while the traditional fog lamps are replaced by LED units. Also added to the line-up is a Launch Control function and steering mounted paddle shifters as standard. The Luxury Line model furthermore gets the addition of a Sports+ drive mode previously only available on the Sport Line trim.

The GT has always been a more practical version of the 3-series, with its larger wheelbase, increased cabin and boot space. The pricing for the updated 3GT makes it more expensive than its predecessor and while also positioning the model just above the standard 3-series sedan.

Prices for the updated 3-series GT are as follows (ex-showroom, Delhi):
BMW 320d GT Sport Line: Rs 43.3 lakh
BMW 320d GT Luxury Line: Rs 46.5 lakh
BMW 330i GT Luxury Line: Rs 47.5 lakh
