The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder has received comfort, safety and transmission upgrades as part of its 2025 model year update. The Toyota compact SUV’s ex-showroom, Delhi, price now starts at Rs 11.34 lakh, an increase of Rs 20,000 from before. However, its Rs 19.99 lakh price for the top-spec variant is unchanged.

2025 Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder: what’s new?
Interior
Higher-stacked Hyryder variants now feature an 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, rear-door sunshades and ambient lighting. Select variants come with an AQI monitor and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), while 15W USB-C charging ports and LED reading lamps are now standard offerings.
Safety
In addition to structural enhancements, Toyota has made six airbags – driver, co-driver, front side, and curtain – as standard across all Hyryder variants. Previously, the entry-level E and S Hyryders came with only two airbags. Moreover, some Hyryder automatic trims now have an electronic parking brake (EPB).
New V AT AWD variant at Rs 18.94 lakh
With the 2025 update, Toyota has phased out the 5-speed manual transmission to add a 6-speed automatic unit in the AWD V mild hybrid variant. This move will also help the brand draw a sharper line between the Hyrder and its sister model, the Maruti Grand Vitara, which is limited to a manual gearbox in its AWD variant.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder powertrains
Mild hybrid
The Hyryder’s mild-hybrid variants come with a Maruti-sourced 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine, which makes 103hp and 136.8Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic transmissions are available with the 2WD version, while only an AT unit is offered in the 4WD guise. With inputs from a 12V integrated starter generator, Toyota claims a fuel economy of up to 21.12kpl in the SUV.
Strong hybrid
The Hyryder hybrid packs Toyota’s 92hp, 122Nm, 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine coupled with a hybrid system that comprises a 0.76kWh lithium-ion battery pack and an electric motor. With this hybrid setup, the total power output is 116hp, which is transferred via an e-CVT (in Toyota’s speak) to the front wheels only. The mileage is rated at 27.7kpl.
