The third-generation Hyundai Creta, set to launch here in 2027, has been spied testing again. The heavily camouflaged test mule reveals a number of new design elements, including a revised front fascia and new LED taillights.
- 2027 Creta to use the same K3 platform as the Kia Seltos
- New interior trims and Pleos Connect system are likely
- Upcoming Creta is likely to be larger than the current SUV
Third-gen Hyundai Creta: Design details
Despite the heavy camouflaging, several styling changes are visible. Up front, the Creta appears to have a redesigned fascia inspired by the newer-generation Seltos; updates include a wider grille spanning across the front. The bumper also seems to have smoother lines than the current model.
The headlights appear to take cues from the new Hyundai Venue, with eyebrow-shaped LED daytime running lamps visible above them. Interestingly, the alloy wheel design looks similar to that of other newer Kia models. At the rear, the new Creta could feature revised LED taillights.
Third-generation Hyundai Creta: What else to expect?
The next-generation Creta is going to move from Hyundai's current K2 platform to the newer K3 platform, which also underpins the Seltos. That could make the Creta bigger, too, much like the Seltos. Hyundai will also aim for a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating with the new Creta, since the Seltos already has one.
Inside, the dashboard is expected to be redesigned completely. The new cabin should get brighter colours and a simpler, more premium layout, similar to the Seltos. A large infotainment screen, likely part of the Pleos Connect system, has also been seen on the test mule overseas, so it could make it to the production model.
Strong hybrid in the works
We had earlier reported that Hyundai is developing a strong-hybrid setup for the Creta. It is expected to be based on the existing 1.5-litre petrol engine. The current engine options are likely to continue as well, including the 115hp 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 160hp 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 116hp 1.5-litre diesel. Respective manual and automatic gearbox options should continue as well.
