Renault India issues recall for Kwid 800cc

Voluntary recall meant to address steering-related issue; details regarding number of affected cars and model year have not been revealed.

Renault has issued a recall in India for its 0.8-litre engine Kwid hatchback. The voluntary service campaign has been has been announced to address an issue with the steering system.

A notice sent to owners of the affected model asks them to schedule an appointment with the nearest Renault dealer, but does not reveal details of the model year or number of models affected. The Kwid is available with a 54hp, 0.8-litre and a 68hp, 1.0-litre engine, though both models share the same electronic steering setup. The notice, however, specifically only mentions the 0.8-litre model has been affected. Repairs will be carried out at no extra cost to the customer.

The French carmaker recently launched a special-edition Kwid for 2018, with both engine options, that came with parking sensors and new exterior graphics.
