UPDATE: Six-seat MG Hector India debut at Auto Expo 2020
MG Motor India has confirmed that it will bring 14 new cars and SUVs to its stall at the 2020 Auto Expo. The models, which range from ones for the mass market to concepts that provide hints to the brand’s future, will be showcased alongside a new Vision-i concept.
From the teaser image, MG’s Vision-i seems similar to the Roewe Vision-i concept that made its debut at the 2019 Shanghai motor show. At the event in China, the Vision-i was meant to exhibit parent company SIAC’s technological prowess and future ready capabilities, particularly in the area of internet-enabled EVs and autonomous cars.
The concept is expected to do the same for MG Motor in the Indian market. Speaking about the brand’s presence at this year’s Auto Expo, Rajeev Chaba, president and MD, MG Motor India, said, “MG Motor India is committed to accelerating the adoption of eco-friendly, next-generation mobility solutions over the long term in India. To achieve this goal, we aim to establish our technology leadership and further consolidate our position in the Indian automotive space. Our presence at this year’s Auto Expo with a focus on future technologies for India is a testimony to this commitment. All MG products at the Expo operate at the intersection of our core focus on innovation, customer experience and sustainability-led development.”
Alongside the Vision-i concept, MG is also expected to have a number of other hatchbacks, sedans and utility vehicles on display.
