Mercedes-Benz has launched the AMG G 63 Offroad Pro in India at Rs 3.80 crore, ex-showroom. The venerable SUV's new trim gets AMG-specific off-road hardware, and it will be available in limited numbers. Compared to the standard AMG G 63, the Offroad Pro carries a premium of Rs 6 lakh.

Mercedes-AMG G 63 Offroad Pro highlights
The new Offroad Pro trim gets active ride control suspension with active roll stabilisation. It also gets active balance control, allowing the roll stiffness to be adjusted in three stages for different off-road conditions. Another key addition is the traction pro mode (available in the Rock and Sand modes). Mercedes claims that this system can control braking torque at each wheel individually and it offers seven stages of locking.
The G 63 Offroad Pro also gets a roof luggage rack with aluminium panels and a removable rear ladder. It rides on exclusive 20-inch AMG alloy wheels finished in matte black.
The AMG G 63 gets a 12.3-inch digital driver's display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen, running Mercedes' latest MBUX NTG7 multimedia system. It also gets wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with USB-C ports. An augmented reality navigation system is available as well. For off-road driving, the displays can show information such as vehicle position, compass, altitude, steering angle, tyre pressure and temperature, along with the status of the differential locks.
There is also a 'transparent bonnet' function that gives a feed from under the car. Other features include ambient lighting and an 18-speaker, 760W Burmester 3D surround sound system. Safety features include active brake assist, lane-keeping assist and a 360-degree camera.
Mercedes-AMG G 63 Offroad Pro powertrain
Like the standard AMG G 63, the Offroad Pro version is powered by the brand's 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, producing 585hp and 850Nm. This engine is complemented by a 22hp 48V mild-hybrid system. All-wheel drive is standard, and the SUV does the 0-100kph sprint in a claimed time of 4.4 seconds.
