After launching its ‘Click to Buy’ online purchasing platform on a pilot basis in NCR earlier this year, Hyundai India has now rolled out the service across India. The platform essentially allowed customers the ability to purchase Hyundai cars online via the ‘Click to buy’ platform without needing to physically visit a dealership. This service has now been made available across India with over 500 dealerships incorporated in the platform. The website has all Hyundai models available for purchase, including the new Creta and new Verna.

To purchase a car online, the customer needs to create an account with Hyundai on the ‘Click to buy’ website. Once the customer has registered, they have a relatively straightforward process to follow. They can choose the dealership, model, variant, colour and any other configurable options. From there, they get a quotation and financing options, as well as the delivery method. Then finally, the order can be placed. The customer also has access to a concierge service provided by Hyundai that can be used to clarify any doubts, throughout the entire process.

Commenting on the integration of ‘Click to Buy’ platform across India, SS Kim, MD and CEO, Hyundai Motor India, said, “Hyundai has pioneered the digital sales arena in India with ‘Click to Buy’ that is India’s first online sales platform offering the new-age digital customer a seamless and convenient option to remotely purchase new Hyundai cars from the safety of their homes. Over the last decade, retail sales have been witness to a paradigm shift, with new-age customers heavily inclined to online purchase of products. With pan India integration of dealerships under ‘Click to Buy’, Hyundai is offering its tech-savvy customers a transparent and easy way of purchasing their favourite Hyundai cars.” He also said, “The ‘Click to Buy’ platform will act as an additional sales channel for all our dealerships across India, thereby creating additional opportunities for remote interaction with customers and facilitation of sale even during periods when customers are unable to visit showrooms.”

Considering the current situation with the Coronavirus pandemic, having an online sales platform that reduces the need for physical contact in the car buying process could benefit customers’ confidence. However, we will have to wait and see how this pans out in the days after the 21-day country-wide lockdown ends.
