Honda Cars India recently revealed the first teaser image of its upcoming, refreshed Jazz hatchback. In March, before the coronavirus-related nationwide lockdown was announced, the BS6-compliant 2020 Honda Jazz was spotted road-testing somewhere in North India.
The current-gen Jazz, which is sold in our country, is already being replaced by an all-new model internationally. India, however, will see an upgrade to the current-Jazz that includes aBS6 compliant engine and minor cosmetic tweaks. While not much is known about the styling changes, it is safe to expect a minor nip and tuck for the hatchback to keep it fresh.
The updated model will come with a BS6-compliant, 1.2-litre petrol engine, which should continue to produce 90hp and 110Nm of torque. The 100hp/200Nm, 1.5-litre diesel will also be upgraded to meet the new emission requirements. Gearbox options on offer with the BS6 Jazz will be similar to that of the recently updated Amaze compact sedan, as both engines will come paired to a 5-speed manual unit, while the 1.2-litre petrol will also continue to get a CVT automatic gearbox. The Jazz diesel, however, may not come with a CVT option.
On the inside, there will be cosmetic updates and the top-spec Jazz will continue to feature a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with other features. Expect more details on the refreshed Jazz to be revealed in the coming days. Honda is also readying a slightly updated BS6-compliant WR-V, which will also launch soon. The big launch for the brand will be the all-new City that will see a price announcement in the coming days.
