Ultraviolette Shockwave patent image hints at production design

The Ultraviolette Shockwave is a lightweight, dirt-oriented electric bike that is due to go on sale in 2026. A recently filed patent image now suggests that the production-spec bike will look very similar to the eye-catching prototype that was revealed in early March.

  • Retains the sleek and minimal design
  • Likely to weigh 120kg and have a 120kph top speed

Ultraviolette Shockwave design

It is a lightweight, dirt-oriented electric bike

The Shockwave design prototype is almost identical to the prototype showcased earlier, with a couple of small differences. For one, it appears that the fork shrouds are not visible, but this probably just be the angle of the patent image. There is good reason to believe that the fork shrouds might still be in place as the front brake disc shroud from the concept is clearly visible here and that item was integrated into the suspension shroud on the prototype.

Another missing item in this patent image is the brake lever protector although that could be sold as an accessory. The image shows a solid windscreen, but no visible headlamps. The look of this windshield is very similar to the rally style unit on the prototype that sat in front of two vertically stacked LED projector headlamps. The prototype had a beautifully finished aluminium tower that held the headlamps and windscreen in place and we hope to see this make it to the production bike as well.

Ultraviolette Shockwave battery, range, performance

Not all specs have been shared yet, but we do know that this Ultraviolette electric bike will have a 4kWh battery pack and a mid-mounted electric motor that produces a peak of 14.5hp and a massive 505Nm of torque at the rear wheel. Bear in mind that the latter number is calculated with the multiplication factor of the final drive gearing.

The company claims a top speed of 120kph and a 0-60kph time of 2.9s which indicates some exciting low speed acceleration. A big part of this bike’s appeal will be in its promised 120kg kerb weight, although the company hasn’t yet revealed what the seat height is.

The Shockwave is a dirt bike with a long flat seat and it is bound to have a fairly tall seat height, but the choice of 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels should keep this under control, as against the usual 21/18 combination.

Ultraviolette Shockwave price

The Shockwave is currently priced at Rs 1.75 lakh ex-showroom, although the first 2000 people who made pre-bookings got the bike at a price of Rs 1.5 lakh ex-showroom. The Shockwave is expected to go on sale in the first half of 2026.
