Ultraviolette sales surge in 2026 as BaaS lowers upfront cost

Ultraviolette has recorded its strongest sales run yet in 2026, with the company retailing 1,534 electric two-wheelers between January 1 and May 12, according to Vahan data. The Bengaluru-based EV maker recently introduced Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plans aimed at reducing upfront costs for buyers.

  1. Ultraviolette sold 975 units in Q1 CY2026
  2. More than 3,000 units sold in the last 16 months
  3. X-47 price reduced by Rs 1.01 lakh under BaaS plan

Ultraviolette recorded its best-ever quarterly sales in Q1 2026

Ultraviolette has sold over 3,000 units in the last 16 months, out of its total 3,799 retail sales since February 2023.

The company retailed 975 units between January and March 2026, up from 206 units during the same period last year. Monthly sales this year stood at 403 units in January, 283 in February, 289 in March and 379 in April, while the first 12 days of May contributed another 180 units. Ultraviolette’s cumulative retail sales since February 2023 now stand at 3,799 units. Of these, over 3,000 units have been sold in the last 16 months.

Sales had remained relatively modest in its early years, with 271 units sold in CY2023 and 443 units in CY2024, before rising to 1,551 units in CY2025.

Ultraviolette lineup now includes three products with two more in the pipeline

Ultraviolette currently has three products in its portfolio, including the F77 Mach 2, F77 SuperStreet and X-47. The brand has also showcased the Shockwave dirt bike and Tesseract scooter that are slated to go on sale in the second half of 2026.

Earlier this year, Ultraviolette introduced its Battery Flex programme in partnership with Ecofy. Under the BaaS model, the starting price of the X-47 has been reduced from Rs 2.50 lakh to Rs 1.49 lakh (both ex-showroom), while the battery is offered on a subscription plan starting at Rs 2,499 per month.

The company says the move reduces the upfront purchase cost by nearly 40 percent. Battery ownership transfers to the customer after completion of the subscription tenure.

Battery subscription plans are also being adopted by manufacturers such as Ather Energy, Bajaj Auto and TVS Motor Company for select electric two-wheelers.

Ultraviolette currently operates through more than 40 experience centres across India and says it plans to expand to 100 cities by the end of 2026.
