Motorcycle enthusiasts attending the 71st EICMA motorcycle show in Milan are slated to see Ducati showcase three of its new motorcycles for 2014. Ducati’s 899 Panigale will make its first ever official public appearance at this show along with the top-of-the-line 1199 Superleggera, of which 90 percent of the 500 units are claimed to have been already sold. Along with these two motorcycles, the much awaited Monster 1200 and 1200S was unveiled at a press conference by Ducati CEO, Claudio Domenicali and Walter de Silva, Head of Volkswagen Group Design.

The all new Monster 1200 houses an 1198cc, Testastretta, 11 degree DS engine. That’s not all, this new Monster also gets eight-level traction control, three-level ABS, three-level ride-by-wire, riding modes, a new chassis, upgraded suspension and brakes, a single-side swingarm and an adjustable seat height.

The Monster 1200S houses the same engine, tuned to generate a maximum power of 145bhp and peak torque of 12.7kgm, which tips the scales at 182kg. During Ducati’s press conference held at the Leonardo da Vinci Science and Technology Museum in Milan, the Italian firm announced its plans for its 2014 MotoGP and World Superbike Championship seasons. Ducati Corse General Manager Luigi Dall’lgna will head the firm’s MotoGP team, whose official riders will be Andrea Dovizioso and Cal Crutchlow.

For its WSBK 2014 season, Chaz Davies and Davide Giugliano will pilot the 1199 Panigale. Ducati will also showcase its 2014 range of accessories and apparels, including its Capsule Collection, which is Ducati’s casual wear collection.
