Kinetic Green is going to be launching a new electric scooter in India on July 28 and this model will bear close resemblance to the original Kinetic Honda DX scooter from yesteryear.

  1. Kinetic Honda DX to be revived as an electric scooter
  2. EV’s design will be similar to original petrol DX
  3. Expected to be priced around Rs 1 lakh

Kinetic DX electric scooter will have a lot of callback design elements

Bright red starter button and other visual elements will be present.

The company has released teasers on its social media account of this new retro revival electric scooter, which give us a glimpse of its styling. What can be seen is that the body panel below the headlight has a Kinetic Green logo, which doubles up as a Daytime Running Lamp. Just like the original KiHo DX, this new Kinetic Green EV will have a small flyscreen perched atop the rectangular headlight with ‘Kinetic’ lettering on it.

Another faithful callback to the original is in the form of the big red square-shaped starter button for the Kinetic DX electric scooter. The original KiHo DX was the first petrol scooter back in the day to have an electric starter and this EV avatar cleverly incorporates this neat touch. From previous spy shots, we know that the design of this upcoming Kinetic EV is going to be heavily based on the KiHo DX and the teasers also confirm that it will be available in a shade of red – another callback to the original.

Kinetic Green will be launching this new electric scooter on July 28, and we expect it to be priced around the Rs 1 lakh ballpark (ex-showroom). While no technical details are available currently, it is safe to say that this EV will come with an LFP battery because of the company’s commitment to this battery chemistry.
