Both vehicles look almost production-ready.

Ultraviolette revealed the Shockwave dual-sport motorcycle and its first scooter, the Tesseract, in March 2025, and since then, both have garnered quite a bit of attention. That’s mainly because of the funky design and value for money promised by the Bengaluru-based manufacturer. Since then, both have been delayed, and we now know that it was due to the brand moving to a 100V architecture from a 60V one. Both models are currently slated for a Q1 2027 launch, and UV has given us a preview at EICMA 2026.

Updated Shockwave and a Tesseract M variant showcased

Last month, Ultraviolette announced that the Shockwave will get a new 100V-based architecture, and we know from before that it’ll be shared with the Tesseract. In the meantime, the company debuted the new VX-100 platform and the first product based on it, the X-47 Venom. Shortly after launch, the company’s chief technical officer, Niraj Rajmohan, revealed that there will be four products based on the VX-100 platform over the next 12 months. He also explained that the X-47 got it first since it is the company’s bestseller.

A wider seat means it’s more practical for its intended dual-sport usage.

In our last report, we mentioned that UV plans to launch the Shockwave first, followed by the Tesseract, both likely in the first three months of 2027. The Shockwave showcased at EICMA has an updated, slightly wider seat. The launch version had an extremely slender seat (on-brand for an off-roader), but the new seat should make it more practical. The body panels also look more substantial than those on the launch version, and this could lead to a higher kerb weight than the 120kg the brand claimed at launch. We hope UV finds a way to keep that figure close to it, though.

Design will differ on the production version.

As for the Tesseract, UV showed a variant, denoted as Tesseract M, with a hard-shell top box mounted to the back, along with some front- and rear-mounted crash protection. We gather the M stands for maxi, as evidenced by the blocked floorboard, which could be used for an on-board charger or additional, lockable storage space. Interestingly, the showcased model is the pre-100V architecture version, and the model has undergone visual changes since then. When we get a production version of it next year, we expect it to look similar to what was shown to us in June 2026, not what was first unveiled in March 2025.

The changes to both products (visual and otherwise) could indicate a price increase as well. Ultraviolette had mentioned that the Shockwave will start at Rs 1.75 lakh and the Tesseract at Rs 1.45 lakh, and we expect an increase in both once the models go on sale next year.

The headlight was covered, but we expect it to have projector units.
