TVS has just launched the latest addition to its electric scooter portfolio, the Orbiter, priced at Rs 99,900 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru; price inclusive of the PM e-Drive scheme). The Orbiter slots alongside the iQube, and is positioned at par with the base iQube that features a 2.2kWh battery pack.

The Orbiter gets features like cruise control as standard.
Unlike the iQube and its multiple variants, the Orbiter has been introduced with a single 3.1kWh battery pack and a claimed 158km IDC range. For reference, the iQube with the 2.2kWh battery is rated at 94km IDC, and in our real-world tests we achieved 76.4km in Eco mode (in line with TVS’ claimed real-world figure). On that basis, the Orbiter should realistically offer around 120km of real-world range, though we’ll only know for sure once we test it.
TVS hasn’t revealed the Orbiter’s powertrain specifications on its website yet, but it has confirmed that the scooter’s top speed will be capped at 68kph.
Interestingly, TVS has equipped the Orbiter with a 14-inch front wheel and 12-inch rear, joining the likes of the River Indie and Ola S1 Z in offering the larger front wheel size. On paper, a larger front wheel can increase rolling resistance (and potentially reduce efficiency), but it should improve stability and does give the scooter a distinctive, eye-catching stance.
On the tech front, the Orbiter features connected tech via a mobile app that enables turn-by-turn navigation, over-the-air updates, and safety alerts including anti-theft, crash, and geo-fencing notifications. Riders will also have access to Eco and Power modes, hill-hold assist, parking assist (reverse function), and cruise control.
TVS Orbiter design and styling
The Orbiter will be available in six colour schemes.
The Orbiter follows a minimalist, boxy design with fewer flowing lines. A single, large side panel starts at the front apron and flows up towards the tail as one piece, giving it a distinctive side profile. Up front, there’s a handlebar-mounted LED headlamp complemented by a RoboCop-like LED light strip across the apron, a design cue similar to the TVS Jupiter.
TVS also emphasised the scooter’s practicality, with a 34-litre underseat storage that the company says can accommodate two helmets, along with a spacious 290mm flat floorboard.
The Orbiter will be offered in a total of six colours. Given its utilitarian nature and the convenience-focused features on offer, it positions itself against similar family-oriented scooters like the Ather Rizta.
