Suzuki has launched the all-new Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 at Rs 1.71 lakh and the updated Gixxer SF at Rs 1.10 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). At the launch of the two motorcycles, the manufacturer had a motorcycle equipped with some of the optional accessories on display that will soon be available to buyers. These included tank protectors, tank graphics, wheel rim stickers, a DC charging socket and saddle bags.
Suzuki has positioned the GIxxer SF 250 as a sports tourer and this explains the accessories. While we’re still awaiting information on the pricing of these accessories, prices for similar accessories (except the saddle bags) on the older Gixxer are between Rs 286 and Rs 420; we can expect them to be on the affordable side, even for the new bikes.
The Gixxer SF 250 is powered by an all-new 249cc, single-cylinder, SOHC oil-cooled engine that makes 26.5hp at 9,000rpm and 22.6Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. Meanwhile, the Gixxer SF retains its 154.9cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine from the current model, but makes a slightly lower 14.1hp (compared to the earlier 14.8hp) and 14Nm of torque.
Apart from the new 250cc engine, the most drastic difference from the older generation of Gixxers is the styling. For 2019, the SF 250 and SF use a revised fairing that now features a sharp-looking LED headlight. Other new additions include a new split-seat configuration, in place of the single seat one on the older models, a sportier clip-on handlebar, and new digital meters.
