Revolt Motors has begun taking pre-orders for its first electric motorcycle, the RV 400. For an amount of Rs 1,000, you can book the RV 400 on the company’s website. At the e-bike’s launch, Revolt had mentioned that it will also be open on Amazon for booking but we’re unable to find it on the e-commerce portal. Currently, bookings are open only for customers in Delhi and Pune, with Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Bengaluru to follow within the next four months. Deliveries are set to begin in July 2019, based on the booking sequence. The Revolt RV 400 will be available in two colours – Rebel Red and Cosmic Black.
The RV 400 shares its platform with the Chinese Super Soco TC Max but Revolt has redesigned almost all the body panels on the bike. The RV 400 is loaded with features like all-LED lighting, a fully-digital dash, 4G connectivity and more. Hardware includes a bolt-on subframe, a USD fork, a monoshock and disc brakes. Since it lacks a transmission, Revolt has opted to mount the rear brake lever on the handlebar (like on a scooter).
The Revolt RV 400 has a top speed limited to 85kph and an ARAI-certified range of 156km. The company will also have ‘mobile swap stations’ that can be tracked via a phone application, which will allow for swapping your drained battery for a fully-charged one.
The Revolt app also will also have a host of other features that will let you to track your bike, show real-time range based on your riding patterns, notify you on potential problems, and even let you alter the artificial exhaust note.
