Ola has launched its entry-level electric scooter, the S1 Air, at Rs 79,999. This introductory price will be valid till October 24, after which this scooter will cost Rs 84,999. The S1 Air has more basic underpinnings and fewer ride modes than its more upmarket S1 and S1 Pro siblings. The S1 Air gets three riding modes – Eco, Normal and Sports. In Eco mode, it has a claimed range of 101km.

  • S1 Air weighs 99kg, lighter than S1 and S1 Pro

  • More basic underpinnings, gets flat floorboard

Ola S1 Air electric scooter: details

The Ola S1 Air is equipped with a smaller 2.5kWh battery pack (0-100 percent home charge in 4 hours 30 minutes) and a hub-mounted motor making peak power of 4.5kW, figures which endow it with a claimed top speed of 90kph and a claimed range of 101km in Eco mode.

The S1 Air features a more conventional telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers, as well as drum brakes at both ends. Thanks to these changes, the S1 Air tips the scales at 99kg, making it much lighter than the 125kg Ola S1 Pro.

The seat on the S1 Air has been redesigned and it sports a more basic single-piece tubular grab handle. Storage space on the S1 Air stands at 34 litres, as opposed to 36 litres on its more expensive siblings. It has a flat floorboard, which makes ferrying luggage around easier than on the curved floorboard found on the other two Ola e-scooters.

On the technology front, the S1 Air will come with the same 7-inch touchscreen TFT display as its more upmarket siblings and even gets reversing functionality. The S1 Air will come equipped with the MoveOS 3.0 software as standard, which will open up features such as hill-hold functionality, moods, different profiles that eliminate the need to share passcodes, and even proximity alert. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2023, claims Ola.
