Bajaj Chetak sales milestone details
Chetak took 46 months to reach 1,00,000 units in sales
The Bajaj Chetak has crossed the 5,00,000 units milestone despite recent supply chain challenges – a rare-earth magnet shortage that temporarily halted Chetak production. The Chetak has consistently ranked among the bestselling electric scooters in India, even trading the top spot with the TVS iQube until the recent issues dropped it down the order. That said, with production now back on track, we can expect to see sales figures recover over the coming months.
The success can be attributed to Bajaj offering multiple variants within the Chetak line-up and leveraging its extensive service network of over 3,800 touchpoints across the country. Of the 5,10,007 Chetak scooters sold so far, 3,48,251 units were dispatched in the 20 months since April 2024. Impressively, the last 2,00,000 units were shipped from Bajaj’s factory to dealers across India in less than 10 months.
The Bajaj Chetak portfolio currently comprises four models across two battery configurations. The Chetak 3001 features a 3kWh battery, while the 3501, 3502 and 3503 variants use a larger 3.5kWh battery pack. The ex-showroom prices for the range start at Rs 99,900 and go up to Rs 1.35 lakh.
