Honda has taken the wraps off the 2020 Grom 125, otherwise known as the Honda MSX 125 in a few markets. When compared to the previous model, the changes are purely cosmetic - the mechanicals remain unchanged. To be more specific, the 2020 MSX/Grom 125 gets three new, dual-tone colour options - Red/Blue, White/Red and Yellow/Black. These bold colours are sure to increase the appeal of the mini-motorcycle, especially among the youth.

The Honda Grom/MSX 125 is positioned as an easy city roundabout and has garnered popularity for its small size and fun quotient. The features and equipment on offer blies its size and is comparable to what you'd get on regular motorcycles these days. Some of these include LED lamps, a digital instrument cluster and alloys wheels.

The rest of the specs are quite interesting as well. The wheelbase is about 1,100mm while the seat height is 762mm only. The Grom also has probably one of the smallest diameter USD forks on a production motorcycle, measuring 31mm.

Powering this little bike is a 124.9cc, single-cylinder engine that develops 9.7hp and 10.9Nm - it comes mated to a 4-speed gearbox. That seems good enough considering the size of the Grom. For reference, the Honda SP 125 commuter motorcycle, which is on sale in India, produces similar power and torque!

While the 2020 Grom/MSX 125 will go on sale in international markets, there is no indication of Honda launching it in India, for now.

While chances are bleak, Honda did evaluate the possibility of introducing the MSX/Grom 125 a few years ago, when it was spotted testing in India. Will the company take the step and launch it in India post 2020? Will the limited success of the Honda Navi (its moto scooter based on the Activa) that was recently discontinued, have any bearing on that decision? We are as eager to know as you.
