Hero has no shortage of 125cc motorcycles in its portfolio. On paper, the new Hero Glamour X and Xtreme 125R sit in the same displacement category (in fact, they even share the same engine), but the truth is, they’re aimed at very different riders. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the key differences.
Hero Glamour X vs Hero Xtreme 125R: Design and styling
The Glamour X stays true to its commuter roots but with subtle sporty touches
The new Glamour X has taken the familiar design of the older Glamour and made it a tad sportier. It features bolder bodywork with more prominent lines, a black-tinted, taller windscreen and sharply cut tank shrouds. While these updates give it a fresher, more purposeful stance, the overall design still carries a commuter-friendly vibe.
The Xtreme 125R, by contrast, fully embraces the sporty side of the 125cc segment. With its aggressive fuel tank, sleek headlamp and split seat option, it borrows design cues more commonly seen on higher-capacity bikes, which is why the Xtreme 125R gives you the feeling of riding a ‘bigger’ bike than it actually is.

Hero Glamour X vs Hero Xtreme 125R: Chassis and dimensions
The Xtreme 125R offers a sportier setup with a monoshock and wider tyres
The two motorcycles have some notable differences in terms of chassis setup. While both use a telescopic fork at the front, their rear suspension choices set them apart. Staying true to its commuter-oriented character, the Glamour X employs twin-shock absorbers, whereas the Xtreme 125R opts for a sportier monoshock unit.
Dimensionally, the Glamour X is actually the larger motorcycle in overall length, width and height, yet it has a shorter wheelbase compared to the Xtreme 125R. Both suspension layout and wheelbase play a crucial role in shaping handling, but a proper verdict will have to wait until we’ve spent more time riding and testing them back-to-back.
The difference in intent becomes even clearer when you look at their wheels and tyres. The Glamour X runs on 18-inch wheels at both ends, paired with a 90/100-18 tyre at the front and a 100/80-18 at the rear, in line with what you’d expect from a commuter in this class. The Xtreme 125R, on the other hand, is targeted at younger riders with a slightly sportier edge. It gets 17-inch wheels, a 90/90-17 front tyre and a much wider 120/80-17 rear tyre, which adds to its bulkier stance. In terms of weight, the Xtreme tips the scales at 136kg, making it about 9kg heavier than the Glamour X.
Hero Glamour X vs Hero Xtreme 125R: Features and equipment
The Glamour X offers cruise control, but does not come with the option of ABS
The Hero Glamour X offers an impressive set of features that give it an edge over the Xtreme 125R in some areas. It was introduced with several segment-first additions, such as cruise control, ride-by-wire throttle and three selectable riding modes. It also comes equipped with an adaptive colour LCD screen with Bluetooth connectivity, panic brake alert indicators and an auto-adjusting LED headlamp.
The Xtreme 125R, while offering comparatively less in terms of features, still holds its own. It comes with an LED projector headlamp and a negative LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. Where the Xtreme gains an advantage, however, is in safety. Two of its three variants come with single-channel ABS, a feature that the Glamour X does not offer.

Hero Glamour X vs Hero Xtreme 125R: Price and variants
Both models are positioned at a similar price point
The Hero Glamour X is offered in two variants. The Drum version is priced at Rs 90,000, while the Disc version is available at Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). On the other hand, the Hero Xtreme 125R comes in three variants. All of them feature a front disc brake and rear drum brake, but the difference lies in the braking safety system. The base variant uses an Integrated Braking System (IBS), while the higher-spec ABS and ABS (single seat) variants come equipped with ABS. Prices for the Xtreme 125R start at Rs 98,425 and go up to Rs 1.02 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
