Buying a new bike within a Rs 3-6 lakh budget

Kindly suggest a bike within a budget range of Rs 3 to 6 lakh. I want good performance but the main priority is touring.

AAA The best solution to go touring in our environment is on an adventure bike. We just ran a comparison review last month between the top three ADV tourers available today under Rs 5 lakh – the Royal Enfield Himalayan, BMW G 310 GS and Kawasaki Versys-X 300. Each has its strong points, but we found all three lacking in the engine department due to various reasons. As of today, your best bet for a capable ADV bike in this price range is to wait and see what the KTM 390 Adventure brings to the table when it goes on sale next year.

If you’re not interested in an ADV, another good touring option is the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 – it has the power, smoothness and comfort you’d want from a bike like this. At the lower end of the price range, the Bajaj Dominar is set to get improved suspension and performance early next year, so that’s worth looking out for. Another option is to look at a used example of the Kawasaki Versys 650. You should find one within your budget and it makes for a fantastic tourer.
