At Autocar India, we've put dozens of motorcycles through our testing protocols using a GPS-based data logging system. What we’ve come to find is that you don’t need to spend an exorbitant amount of money to get access to some properly quick machines. Here are the 5 fastest bikes we’ve tested under Rs 3 lakh, ranked by their 0-100kph times.
5. TVS Apache RTR 310
0-100kph: 6.66s
The TVS Apache RTR 310 rounds out our list in fifth place. Powered by a 312cc single-cylinder engine producing 35.6hp and 28.7Nm, the Apache RTR 310 is the brand’s flagship streetfighter. Despite being the smallest displacement bike on this list, it manages respectable acceleration thanks to its relatively light kerb weight of 169kg. Prices for the Apache RTR 310 start at Rs 2.21 lakh and go up to Rs 2.87 lakh.

4. Triumph Thruxton 400
0-100kph: 6.62s
The Triumph Thruxton 400 takes fourth place with a 0-100kph time of 6.62 seconds, just a few milliseconds quicker than the Speed 400, which we clocked at 6.71 seconds. Powering the Thruxton 400 is the same 398cc single-cylinder engine producing 42hp and 37.5Nm of torque. With a kerb weight of 183kg, the Thruxton is 4kg heavier than the Speed 400, so the marginal difference in acceleration is likely down to testing conditions and rider input rather than any mechanical advantage, especially given how minuscule the gap is. The Thruxton 400 is priced at Rs 2.74 lakh.

3. Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450
0-100kph: 6.59s
The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is built on the same Sherpa 450 platform as the Himalayan, but adopts a roadster format with the 452cc single-cylinder engine producing 40hp and 40Nm. It's worth noting that we conducted our performance tests in damp conditions, yet the bike still managed this impressive time. The Guerrilla 450 also runs on CEAT Gripp XL tyres, which are geared more towards all-terrain use, and swapping them for more road-focused rubber will likely help shave off a few milliseconds. The Guerrilla 450 is priced from Rs 2.56 lakh to Rs 2.72 lakh.

2. Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z
0-100kph: 6.26s
The Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z claims second place with a 0-100kph time of 6.26 seconds. The bike uses a 373cc single-cylinder engine that produces 43hp and 35Nm of torque. The Pulsar NS400Z was updated in mid-2025 to offer more power and with grippier Apollo H1 tyres. The changes brought clear improvements in performance, with claimed top speed increasing from 150kph to 157kph, and the 0-100kph time dropping from nearly 7.5 seconds to 6.26 seconds. At Rs 1.93 lakh, it's also the most affordable bike on this list, offering exceptional performance-per-rupee value.

1. KTM 390 Duke
0-100kph: 5.21s
The KTM 390 Duke takes the top spot as the fastest motorcycle under Rs 3 lakh that we’ve tested. Long regarded as the performance benchmark in its segment, the latest-generation 390 Duke continues to hold that crown. Its 399cc single-cylinder engine produces 46hp and 39Nm, making it the most powerful motorcycle on this list. The 390 Duke catapults to 60kph in just 2.21 seconds and reaches 100kph more than a second quicker than the Pulsar NS400Z behind it. It does command a premium, though, priced at Rs 2.97 lakh – right at the upper limit of this list.
