The VF MPV 7 is bigger and newer, while the Carens Clavis EV is rich in tech and features.

Making its debut on April 15, 2026, the Vinfast VF MPV 7 is the Vietnamese marque’s third product in India. Meanwhile, Kia launched the Carens Clavis EV in July 2025 as the Korean brand’s first electric MPV, positioning it alongside its combustion-powered namesake. Since Vinfast is only selling one variant of the VF MPV 7, we will pit it against a similarly priced Clavis EV. That said, let us now find out which car you should pick for Rs 25 lakh or so.

The Kia Carens Clavis EV in its top-spec GTX+ ER variant offers a lot more features than the Vinfast VF MPV 7. Some equipment that is totally missing in the Vinfast MPV but available in the Kia includes a two-pane panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats with electrical adjustment for the driver’s seat, and a premium Bose audio system with 8 speakers. There are also dual 12.25-inch digital displays in the Kia, wireless smartphone connectivity and sunshades for the second-row occupants.

The VF MPV 7 gets ‘Camp’ mode, which keeps the infotainment system, HVAC and lights on. However, the Carens Clavis EV offers a 64-colour ambient lighting system, a built-in air purifier with an AQI display and a retractable rear-seat table with an integrated cupholder. Where Vinfast offers a virtual assistant, Kia has equipped its electric MPV with a voice-command feature to control some of the on-board functions. Finally, the latter also gets a ‘Digital Key’, which is a smartphone app that can be used to control the windows, door lock, etc.

While both cars get multiple drive and brake regen modes, the Vinfast VF MPV 7 misses out on several drive-related features that would be expected at this price point. For instance, there are no paddle shifters to quickly alter the intensity of the regenerative braking, and no one-pedal drive mode either. Understandably, the Kia Carens Clavis EV in its top-spec GTX+ trim gets all these, plus adaptive cruise control.
