Over five years after its launch in 2020, the Tata Altroz premium hatchback has finally been given a comprehensive facelift. The updated Tata hatchback packs design and interior feature upgrades, and rivals the Maruti BalenoHyundai i20 and Toyota Glanza. Keep reading to find out what’s new in the 2025 Altroz facelift.

Tata Altroz new vs old exterior design

Brow-shaped LED DRLs

Compared to the outgoing car, the facelifted Tata Altroz features new LED headlights, brow-shaped DRLs, vertical recesses for the fog lamp housings and a new design for the grille at the front. Changes to the side are marked by refreshed alloy wheels (which now have an EV-like design) and flush-fitting front door handles (with illumination like the Tata Curvv SUV). Also, the fender-mounted vertical indicators have been deleted for a cleaner look.

In addition to the new LED tail-lights, a thin light bar now bridges the pair, and the redesigned bumper looks sportier with a dual-tone finish in body colour and black. The 'Altroz' lettering, which previously sat just below the Tata logo, has been repositioned to the lower end of the tailgate.

Colours

Tata Altroz new vs old interior features

All-new 10.25-inch digital driver's display

Inside, the new Altroz shares its two-spoke steering wheel and automatic AC controls with the Curvv SUV. There’s also an all-new 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, while the 10.25-inch touchscreen has a more integrated look than the floating unit before. The outgoing Altroz’s list of features included wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charger, a sunroof, cruise control, auto AC, rear AC vents, a 360-degree camera setup and six airbags – all of which continue on the facelift.

Tata Altroz new vs old engine and gearbox options

Only hatchback in its segment with a diesel powertrain

The 2025 Altroz facelift carries over the petrol, CNG and diesel engine options, which were offered with the pre-facelift model. The Altroz petrol is powered by an 88hp, 1.2-litre engine, which can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. However, the 74hp CNG version and the 90hp, 1.5-litre diesel Altroz models can only be had with a manual gearbox.
