Follow usSuzuki has three 125cc petrol scooters on offer in India, and among them, the Burgman is the most expensive. Here, we’ll tell you three key reasons why you should consider the Burgman.
The Burgman is powered by the same 124cc engine as Suzuki’s other scooters – Access and Avenis – which means it, too, has a high level of refinement and is quite fuel-efficient. What helps the Burgman’s case further is that the top EX model comes standard with a start/stop system and is the only Suzuki scooter to do so.
For the set of scooter buyers that value road presence, the Burgman is one of the few scooters in this segment that offers maxi-scooter style. With its flared bodywork mimicking larger models sold overseas, the 125cc Burgman manages to stand out in the ocean of other two-wheelers on our roads.
The Burgman is a decently feature-rich offering and has things such as a Bluetooth-compatible LCD screen, LED headlight, and start/stop and silent start (only on the EX). It also has a good amount of storage space with multiple options, including an underseat storage area, two luggage hooks and two small cubbies on the front apron – one of which is also lockable.
That said, there are two key reasons that may put you off the Burgman.
The Suzuki Burgman is priced between Rs 96,399 and Rs 1.18 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), making it one of the most expensive 125cc scooters on sale in India. This is especially pertinent given that the Burgman shares many of its underpinnings with the much more affordable Access and Avenis models.
125cc scooters aren’t meant to be the last word in terms of ride comfort, but even so, the Burgman’s ride leaves something to be desired. This is especially true of the top EX variant, which comes with a 12-inch rear wheel, and this model can feel a little uncomfortable if you’re tackling a lot of less-than-ideal roads on a daily basis.
