I am planning to buy a naturally aspirated petrol automatic car and have shortlisted the Toyota Hyryder mild hybrid and Honda Elevate. Which one would be the better choice?

I am planning to buy a new crossover within a month and want to keep it for four to five years. My priorities are good resale value, decent highway acceleration and mileage. I drive around 6,000-7,000 km a year, but I’m not happy with the mileage of my Tata Altroz DCT. It averages only around 10 km/l, and with E20 petrol becoming more common, fuel costs are becoming increasingly challenging. What options or alternatives would you suggest?

These gearboxes are smoother in traffic and generally more efficient in real-world conditions. Cars like the Honda Elevate CVT will deliver better efficiency and a more relaxed driving experience. If you are open to a manual, a naturally aspirated petrol with a manual gearbox will be even more efficient.Hybrid cars like the Maruti Suzuki Victoris Hybrid or Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Hybrid are the most efficient option, but at your running, the payback period is long. They make sense if you want the lowest possible fuel cost per kilometre, but not as a purely financial decision.

I have a Tata Nexon Creative AMT that is only a year old, but I have already had to replace the spark plugs four times and the ignition coil once. Which car should I buy among Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Petrol base or Kia Seltos petrol base? And also tell me if anyone has faced power issue or pickup issue while overtaking as I want the car for long term.

Between the two, the Seltos is the better choice, especially if you are looking at the base variant. It feels more premium, is the newer product and offers a more complete package even in its lower variants.The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol makes 115hp and 144Nm. It isn't a particularly powerful engine, but it is smooth and refined and is perfectly adequate for normal city driving.For overtaking, it won't have the punch of the Seltos turbo, but it isn't underpowered either. With a full load and during quick highway overtakes, you may need to plan ahead and use higher revs. The Grand Vitara's 1.5 petrol is also a smooth, simple powertrain, but its performance is more relaxed and the base variant is quite sparsely equipped.
