I have a Volkswagen Polo and a Jeep Compass Petrol, and I'm looking for a luxurious sedan with a budget of Rs 40 lakh (before taxes) from a good brand. Please give me a few recommendations.

@vivaan.1 Go for Camry
@vivaan.1 Go for Camry because you get bulletproof Toyota Engineering and a fantastic hybrid setup. Great comfort, aesthetics and has all the right ingredients for a luxury family sedan.
@vivaan.1 Go for A4 because it's a proper sedan rivalling the 3 series and C class. The 2 series is a good car but will always feel like a compromise because it falls short in 1) performance - only 154bhp and 2) space - the rear seat is slightly cramped. If this was for 40L on-road, it would worth considering. But at 55L on-road, it's grossly overpriced. Hell, I'd suggest you get a 1.5 Slavia instead. Much worse quality of materials but literal same level of performance + handling and much much better space on offer. As for the Camry, great car, GREAT fuel efficiency and if that is a big deal, go for it. Else, skip because at the end of the day this too is a 35-odd lakh car sold much much higher due to taxation structures. The A4 is a nice balanced option that gives you good tech, comfort, power. Most importantly, it is priced as it should be. Yes, ideally you'll have to sell it within 4-5 years to avoid the "ageing German car" phenomenon but that's also true of the 2 series.
Stretching a bit would also land you the Skoda Superb. Personally, I'm very happy with my Virtus GT - coming from a Civic earlier - but that really depends on your priorities. The BMW 2 series engine is arguably worse than Virtus GT, for example. There are some rumours of the Civic returning too. That could be a god fit.
