I currently own a 10-year-old TVS Wego and am interested in buying an electric scooter. My average monthly running is about 350 km. I am looking for a good family-friendly EV scooter with ample storage space. Please suggest the best options.

Since your daily running isn't much more than 10kms - based on the monthly usage you have specified - you can go for an electric scooter with a smaller battery pack. We would recommend you take a look at the Bajaj Chetak 3001 / 3503, TVS iQube 2.2 / 3.1 and Ather Rizta S / Z 2.9

All of these have at least 75km of real-world range - if not more - and will be more than sufficient for your limited daily usage. These EVs also have spacious floorboards and 30 litres of underseat storage - if not more. They should be more than up to the task of hauling around daily needs like groceries, household supplies, etc.

Take a test ride of these options so you can decide which one fits you best.

Abhay - you haven't mentioned which city you will be using this scooter. This is an essential factor before you zero in. If there are good charging stations near you for ather or if your house/building offers charging outlets. I live in Mumbai, in a high rise with no charging network within 2 kms nor any outlet in my buildings parking space. With those factors, What worked for me is Vida VX2 plus which offers a removable battery in addition to an option of charging at any Ather station. I only bought it a week back, and satisfied with the range of ~ 100 km per charge. Comfort, space and ease of handling are all very good. Hero motors service network is another plus this one carries. Please add it to your list to check out for sure.

Also costs lesser than the rivals mentioned here. I loved the flexibility, practicality and pricing it offers and it became the best option for my family use. BTW I also owned a TVS wego for over 13 yrs which the Vida VX2 plus replaced.

I want to buy a 125-150 cc bike. My height is 165 cm. I want it for the daily office commute. I want a bike with low seat height, not too high, with a refined engine, decent mileage of 45+ and with ABS.

Pretty much every single 150-160cc commuter comes with at least single-channel ABS, so that won't be a deciding factor for you. Our top picks in this class are the Bajaj Pulsar N160 and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V if you want something sportier and feature-rich. If you want to stick to a simple, no-nonsense machine, then the Honda Unicorn remains a safe bet. If ridden sensibly, you should see in excess of 45kpl for all of these 150cc bikes. In the 125cc class, if having ABS is non-negotiable, then your options are restricted to the TVS Raider and Honda CB125 Hornet. Of these three, the TVS is our top recommendation. The 125s will be quite fuel-efficient, and you'll seldom see a mileage figure below 50kpl, no matter your riding style. You should first decide which segment you want to stick with and then take a test ride of the bikes accordingly before you make a decision.

I am looking to buy the most comfortable scooter, preferably with the best suspension setup. My daily usage is around 10 km, and I am not very concerned about high power or top-class fuel efficiency. My budget is up to ₹2 lakh. Could you suggest the most comfortable scooter in this price range?

If you are looking for the best comfort on a petrol scooter, the TVS Jupiter 110 and Suzuki Access are the best options. The Jupiter has 12-inch wheels at both ends, which will also help round off bigger bumps more nicely. It's also got a winged preload adjuster, which will easily help you adjust preload when carrying a passenger and luggage. If you are looking for something in the EV space, then you should look at the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Vida VX2 Plus and Ather Rizta. These scooters have spacious riding positions, comfortable suspension setups and come from reputed manufacturers with widespread and proven service networks. Take a test ride of these scooters before you decide.
