The Maruti Suzuki Celerio is a good option to consider. It is spacious, comfortable, and easy to drive. The 1.0-litre petrol engine is peppy and efficient, and the car is also available with a CNG option.

The other option is the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R with the 1.2-litre petrol engine. It is good on space, comfortable for the city, and highly efficient too. The ZXi variant will fit in your Rs 7 lakh budget.

I want to purchase a new bike below ₹3.5 lakh. My back is very sensitive, and I am 5'11" tall. I would really love a bike that soaks up speed bumps and potholes well when travelling in the city or on uneven gravel roads. I tried the Royal Enfield Himalayan, but it is not suitable for traffic. I liked the Scrambler 400X and felt good on it (8/10) as it soaked up around 75-80% of the bumps. I could not ride the RTX 300 - is it better than the Scrambler 400X? Should I book it now since the waiting time is very long? Or is there any other bike that shines in this case?

Of the three bikes you've shortlisted, the Triumph Scrambler 400 X will be the best all-rounder and will also be very easy to ride inside city traffic with its tractable engine and short gearing. While the RTX 300 has slightly better suspension travel and composure, it is still a new product, and it would be advisable to wait some months before buying an all-new machine like this, so if there are any teething issues, they can be ironed out. If you are open to having a retro riding experience, then the Royal Enfield Bullet / Classic 350 are worth looking at. These are very comfortable machines, although their performance won't be anywhere close to as sprightly as the other bikes you're looking at. On the plus side, the Bullet/Classic are much more affordable to purchase. We'd recommend a test ride of the RE 350s before you make a decision.

What is the best upgrade for me - a Grand Vitara, a Creta, or a Seltos? I am 67 years old and mostly drive locally, but I recently completed a long drive of 600 km in my Baleno without any problems.

It's hard to recommend a car without knowing a bit more about your requirements, like mileage, rear space, etc. However, as an all-rounder, we would recommend the Kia Seltos over the other two in your shortlist. The Seltos has smooth and refined engines, the car is well-specced, has good interior space, which has increased over the previous Seltos, while the ride too is now tuned more towards comfort. Furthermore, the Seltos is also the newest of the lot and thus would stay fresher while the other two are due for an update / new generation in about a year.

Hello, firstly thanks to Autocar for guiding and helping common folk over the years! Kudos! I was planning to buy a car for City use (Mumbai), car to be primarily driven by parents, daily drive would be maximum 10km, need an automatic. Constraints - Parking space is tight, so planned to go with sub 4m cars, since it'll be for parents needed easier ingress and egress without pressure on knees. Narrowed to Brezza. Is it a good choice? If not what alternate cars can be considered? Furthermore, when is the facelift for Brezza due? There is no urgency as such to buy, what do you suggest should we go ahead now, or wait out for the facelift? Thanks!

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza is a good choice for your requirements. It is a spacious, practical, and compact SUV that is easy to drive in the city. The 1.5-litre petrol engine lacks punch and delivers mediocre performance. But it's smooth and refined and, coupled with a fairly responsive automatic gearbox, does the job for city driving quite well. More importantly, the Brezza is easy to get in and out of thanks to wide-opening doors and a comfortable step-in height. The Brezza is also a very reliable car, and Maruti's service network is very strong, so you won't go wrong there. The facelifted Brezza is expected to be launched later this year, though we are not aware of an exact timeline. The other alternative cars you could consider are the new Hyundai Venue, which is today the best overall compact SUV, or the Kia Syros, which is extremely spacious, especially in the back seat.
