My wife drives a Honda Amaze (MT) and her daily commute is around 15 km. We already own a Virtus and an i20, but want to upgrade the Amaze. Considering options like the Sonet, Elevate, Venue, or 3rd-gen Amaze. Looking for a value-for-money car with good resale potential and discounts on the current car. Please advise.

If your current Honda Amaze is the 2nd generation, then the 3rd generation will feel more like an update. If you want something different, the new Hyundai Venue (due to launch in the first week of November) would be a good option. It meets your criteria for resale value and should hold its value well.

I want to buy an automatic car with a budget of ₹10-15 lakh, mostly for city use and occasional highway driving. Please suggest.

For mostly city use with occasional highway drives, we would recommend you pick a car with a petrol engine. The Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos with the 115hp, 1.5-litre petrol engine and CVT automatic gearbox are the best options in this budget. Both SUVs are identical under the skin, so you should pick the one you like the look of more. They also have different interiors and slight feature differences. Both are also spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped, and the petrol-CVT combination is refined and smooth.

Suggest a family car for five members with good rear seat comfort within a ₹10 lakh budget. Is the Skoda Kylaq a good option?

The Nissan Magnite is a good option for you. It has a spacious cabin and a comfortable rear seat that can accommodate three adults. Apart from a 1.0 NA petrol engine, the Magnite is also available with a punchy 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that can also be had with a CVT automatic. Meanwhile, the Skoda Kylaq's rear seat isn't as spacious for three adults.

I want to buy an SUV under ₹10 lakh with a 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. Please guide.

Given your requirements, your best bet will be the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. It is powered by a 103hp, 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. The mid-spec Brezza VXi MT is priced at Rs 9.26 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes with all necessary features like a touchscreen infotainment system, 6 airbags, a height-adjustable driver's seat, auto climate control, electrically adjustable and foldable outside mirrors, rear parking sensors and more.

I am looking to buy a new EV/ Hybrid car with great cabin space. Budget is 15 to 18 lakhs. Mostly city driving with occasional trips 1-2 times a month. What do you suggest?

Given your requirement for a spacious cabin, the MG Windsor EV is a great choice for you. The interior room is a highlight, and the Windsor EV actually feels roomier than some larger cars. The Windsor EV is also pleasant to drive, though we'd suggest you opt for the Pro version that uses a larger 52.9kWh battery pack - the added range will come in handy on your outstation trips. The Windsor EV Exclusive Pro is just out of your budget, but it is the one we'd recommend you consider.
