Hi, I am a first-time car buyer and earn around Rs 1 lakh per month. I am planning to buy a car this year and have shortlisted the Maruti Brezza facelift, Hyundai Venue and Kia Seltos. My usage will be roughly 50% in the city and 50% on the highway. Which of these would be the better choice for a first-time buyer? In the Brezza facelift, the 1.5-litre engine costs around Rs 1 lakh more than the 1.0-litre turbo. Would it be worth spending the extra amount on the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine, or is the 1.0-litre turbo a better choice? What are the key differences between these two engines, especially in terms of performance, comfort and ease of driving? My main priorities are comfort and an easy, relaxed driving experience.

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza 1.5 petrol automatic would be the best fit for you. As a first-time buyer with a 50:50 city-highway usage pattern and comfort and ease of driving as priorities, the Brezza's smooth, predictable power delivery, light controls and comfortable ride make it the easiest car here to live with. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine is also the better choice if you want an automatic. At the same time, the 1.0-litre turbo makes sense mainly if you prefer a manual and want stronger mid-range performance. The extra Rs 1 lakh for the 1.5 is worth spending if the automatic is the preference. The new Hyundai Venue is more feature-rich and feels more modern inside, while its 1.0-litre turbo offers stronger performance than the Brezza 1.5. However, its DCT is not as effortless as a torque converter in slow city traffic, so it isn't the first choice if easy driving is the priority. The new Kia Seltos is the most premium and spacious of the three and would be the better choice if the budget comfortably allows it, but it is a significant step up in price and may not be the wisest choice on a Rs 1 lakh monthly income.

Hi, I am planning to purchase a new automatic car and am confused between the Brezza ZXi 1.5L petrol automatic and the Hyundai Venue HX8 1.0L turbo DCT. Please advise me on which one would be the better choice.

The choice will come down to what you value more in a car. Go for the Maruti Suzuki Brezza ZXi 1.5 petrol automatic if you want a smooth and relaxed drive experience. This Maruti Suzuki car uses a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic, which is the smoothest type of gearbox around, and you will appreciate this in stop-start traffic. Go for the Hyundai Venue 1.0 turbo DCT if it's a more exciting drive you are looking for. The DCT gearbox is not as well-suited to stop-start city conditions and is more fun to drive, with quick shifts, and the powertrain is more peppy and lively. Ride quality is another aspect to look into; if it's mostly city, the Brezza has a more plush low-speed ride, whereas the Venue feels better at speed. Thus, if it's a relaxed city car you are after, pick the Brezza, and the Venue if you are looking for a fun-to-drive car and will have a lot of highway running.

My current vehicle is a 2018 Swift VXi hatchback. I drive around 22km daily, about 20km on weekends, and around 100km on long drives once a month. My budget is Rs 12-13 lakh, and my options are the Brezza ZXi, Hyundai Venue, and Tata Nexon. Which car should I prefer?

Go for the Maruti Suzuki Brezza ZXi. With your daily running of around 22km and a monthly long drive, a petrol compact SUV is the right choice, and the Brezza is the most sensible upgrade from your Swift. It offers a comfortable ride, good ground clearance for bad roads, a reliable and efficient petrol engine, and Maruti’s strong service network, which keeps ownership simple and affordable. This Maruti Suzuki car also now gets the Boosterjet engine, though it is only paired with the manual. The ZXi variant is well equipped and fits your budget comfortably. The Hyundai Venue is a good alternative with a more premium cabin feel, but the Brezza is the more practical and dependable long-term choice. The Tata Nexon is also a strong contender, but Maruti’s ownership experience edges it out for your usage.

I have a 2023 Kia Seltos HTX IVT 1.5 petrol back in Jaipur and now I want to purchase another car in Bangalore. Which car should I consider new brezza facelift 2026 model or Hyundai Venue. Or are there better options available in this category. My budget is strictly 15lakhs on road. Should I purchase it from Bangalore or from Jaipur and than get it transferred here

I have an Alto Lxi 2005 model and want to upgrade to compact SUV with 10 lakhs budget. My driving is in city and occasional highways with about 400 kms a month. Which is the right car Brezza / Venue / Sonet / Nexon / Kylaq for me keeping in mind a long term perspective. If brezza shuld i wait for new face lift since there is good discount on the old model.
