Hi Team, I am looking for a bike for my travel between Mumbai and Bangalore in a single day. I want a comfortable bike for such long rides with good seats. I generally cruise between 120-135 kmph on open highways, so I need a bike with a smooth engine at those speeds. My current bike is the Bajaj Dominar 400. I prefer this kind of bike rather than an adventure bike, as I do not do much off-roading. I mainly want a good touring bike that can comfortably cover 1,000-1,400 km in a day.

Since your priority is road riding and you like to cover more than 1,000 km in a day on your travels, we'd recommend you look at machines like the Honda NX500 and Kawasaki Versys 650. Both offer very good seating comfort, wind protection and smooth twin-cylinder engines that can comfortably sustain triple-digit cruising speeds without intrusive vibrations. While they may look like adventure bikes, both are much more road-focused in the way they ride and behave. They can handle bad roads if needed, but they are not hardcore off-road machines.

If you want something that's a little more road-focused and sporty, then the Kawasaki Ninja 650 is also a good option. It has a smooth engine and is very capable at highway cruising speeds, though it will not be as comfortable over very long distances as the NX500 or Versys 650. You will also need to be mindful of the low ground clearance and the expensive alloy wheels over bad roads.

Depending on the sort of bike you prefer, make your decision, and before doing so, take a test ride of all three to figure out which one is right for you.

Hi everyone, I wanted to enquire about the Hero Xtreme 250R. I wanted to know if all the issues seen in the 2025 models have been rectified in the current 2026 manufacturing lots. I have heard a lot about engine issues with this bike, but I have also heard that in the 2026 models the issues have mostly been rectified. I also wanted to know that Hero showcased a TFT display, cruise control, and ride-by-wire features for this motorcycle at EICMA 2025, but they have not yet been released. What are the updates on this particular model with cruise control, and when will it be launched? If any of you own this motorcycle, please share your experience with it. Also, if you have any information about the launch of the updated version, please let me know.

The Hero Xtreme 250R is a relatively new product, and, like many first-generation models, it faced some initial teething issues. Hero has been proactive in addressing these, and the 2026 manufacturing lots are understood to have received updates to improve reliability and overall refinement. That said, it is still early days for the bike, and a long-term ownership track record is still being established.As for the EICMA 2025 showcase of the Xtreme 250R with more features, it remains to be seen if and when Hero updates the India-spec bike with these features. If you are eyeing the Xtreme, waiting for this updated model makes sense.

I'm planning to buy my first premium motorcycle and have a budget of around Rs. 3.1 lakh on-road. After a lot of research and multiple test rides, I've narrowed my options down to the Triumph Tracker 400 and the Triumph Scrambler 400 X. I'm looking for advice from owners or experienced riders who have spent time with either or both bikes. I've been riding motorcycles for around 7-8 years and this bike will be my primary motorcycle for at least the next 4-5 years. My usage will be approximately 70-80% city commuting to office and 20-30% rides during weekend with occasional long-distance trips of more than 250 km every 2-3 months. I will almost always have a pillion with me, so pillion comfort, suspension, and overall ride quality are very important factors. I enjoy riding but I'm not someone who rides aggressively all the time. I appreciate a refined, confidence-inspiring motorcycle that is also enjoyable on open highways. I'll be paying the full amount in cash so I'm looking for the best overall ownership experience rather than simply the cheapest option. During my test rides, the Tracker 400 felt lighter, more road-focused, and easier to ride in the city. It had a cowl so didn't get to check it with the pillion. The Scrambler 400 X engine felt somewhat the same but just a little toned down and not as aggresive as the Tracker given the higher power produced and better suspension. However, the braking was not as expected. My main concerns are related to finding more suitable bike for someone who rides mostly in the city but enjoys weekend touring. Which bike is more comfortable for both rider and pillion on longer rides? Does the Scrambler's taller suspension and larger front wheel become a disadvantage in daily city riding? Is the Tracker significantly easier to live with in traffic? Considering the fact that I'll own the bike for 4-5 years, which one offers the better overall ownership experience? I'd really appreciate insights from owners, especially those who have ridden both motorcycles or regularly ride with a pillion. Thanks in advance!

For your usage, where you regularly ride with a pillion both usually inside the city and occassionally on the highway, the Triumph Scrambler 400 X is the better option than its sibling, the Tracker. The Scrambler has a far more upright and commanding rider's triangle, is more spacious for both rider and pillion and its suspension comfort is also much better than the Tracker. Coming to the braking issue on the Scrambler, Triumph (not Bajaj) insists on equipping the bike with organic brake pads which don't have the same life or power as sintered units but its an easy fix. You can fit the sintered pads from any other 350cc Triumph onto the Scrambler and this will be an inexpensive and easy fix to your problem.

Is there any news of a Vespa electric scooter coming to India? I am also waiting for an Ultraviolette electric scooter so that I can exchange my Vespa S125.

No, Vespa currently doesn't retail any electric scooter models in India. The Ultraviolette Tesseract is due to be launched in the first quarter of 2027 and, on paper at least, it has some solid specifications which will force the industry to sit up and take notice.If you want an EV that is classically styled, the Bajaj Chetak is a good option. The original Chetak's design was inspired by the Vespas of yesteryear, and that reminiscence carries forward even today. What helps matters further is that the Chetak is a proven offering from a reputed brand, and it comes in multiple variants to suit different needs. Take a test ride of the Chetak and see if it is up your alley.
