I'm looking for a reliable family car under ₹16 lakh on-road with good mileage and a smooth automatic transmission. Should I choose the Brezza ZXI+ AT (top variant) or the Vitara VXI AT?

That's a tough choice, as both Maruti cars are reliable and even offer the exact same engine and gearbox. We recommend the Victoris over the Grand Vitara. It is essentially the same car but with better pricing, more features and a more premium cabin. So the real comparison should be between the Brezza and the Victoris.

The real difference mainly comes down to boot space. The Victoris offers more of it than the Brezza. So, if you take frequent road trips and require more luggage space, the Victoris becomes the more suitable choice.

If that isn’t a priority, then the Brezza would be the better option. It offers almost the same cabin space as the Victoris and comes with most of the same features. Since you’ll be getting the higher ZXi+ variant in the same budget.

Do note, however, that the 1.5 VVT-i petrol engine paired with the 6-speed AT is very smooth, but it’s not the most fuel-efficient Maruti Suzuki powertrain.
