I am a first-time car buyer looking for an automatic transmission and am confused between the top-spec Kia Sonet and a mid-variant of the new Seltos. Which option offers better value for money?

Asked by: Denzyl Dcoutho

It really depends on your priorities. If you want a feature-loaded vehicle, it makes more sense to go for the top variant of the Kia Sonet

But if interior space and comfort are more important to you, then the Kia Seltos is the better choice. In most cases, choosing one variant below the top gives you the best value for money.

In this case, the new Seltos pricing announced on 2 January 2026 can help make the decision clearer.

Sir, I wish to purchase a fully automatic car within a budget of ₹8 lakh. This is my first car and I don’t have any driving experience. I am looking for a safe, reliable hybrid or petrol with CNG car for 70% city and 30% highway driving. Which car model and company is suitable for me? Kindly advise.

You can go for CNG if the network in your city is good, and the car that you can pick is the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R. It comes with 6 airbags, taking care of your safety requirements. Also, it comes with an antilock braking system and electronic brake distribution. Moreover, it gives great fuel efficiency with CNG, and you have the benefit of switching to petrol when you want. The other option is the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, again a reliable car with good features.

I want to switch over from manual to automatic, preferably torque converter automatic transmission with a budget of 12 L. My monthly ride is 200 KM within city & 500 KM on highways. Unable to decide between Maruti Suzuki Brezza & Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor. Please let me know your suggestion.

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza will fit your needs better than the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor. The Brezza is powered by a refined 103hp, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that can be had with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. It has a claimed mileage of 19.8kpl. The Brezza also comes with more features, like a sunroof and heads-up display. Moreover, it has a roomier cabin and a comfier ride quality. Maruti Brezza price (automatic) ranges from Rs 10.60 lakh to Rs 13.01 lakh (ex-showroom). The Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, meanwhile, comes with a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with the same 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. While it is punchier, it won't be as fuel-efficient as the Brezza.
