I have had a Wagon R as my first car since 2022. Now, I want to buy another car. I am confused between the Nexon Camo CNG and the Brezza facelift CNG. As a spare tyre is not provided with the Brezza but is given with the Nexon, I am getting inclined towards the Nexon. However, due to the dilemma regarding Tata's service, I am getting inclined towards the Brezza. So, please advise suitably on which one to choose. I am considering CNG only because of the ethanol fiasco. Otherwise, I was okay with NA petrol or turbo petrol. The dilemma around ethanol in the future is forcing me to think about CNG. Am I thinking right?

You are overthinking the ethanol issue. Modern petrol engines are engineered to handle E20, and there is no official roadmap beyond that. The impact is largely limited to a small drop in fuel efficiency, and there is no need to change your buying decision because of it. CNG car only makes sense if your running is high enough to justify the lower running costs, and you are comfortable with the compromises in boot space and performance.

Between the two cars, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG is the safer long-term choice. Maruti's service network is wider, ownership is generally more hassle-free, and the Brezza is a well-rounded, reliable SUV. The Tata Nexon CNG is the more feature-rich option and the spare tyre is a genuine advantage, but Tata's service experience can still be inconsistent depending on the city, so opt for it only if the dealer network in your area is good.

If you were otherwise happy with a naturally aspirated petrol, go for the Brezza petrol and do not let the ethanol debate sway your decision.

I agree with this 👍 My current car is Nexon EV Zplus 2021 model I want to switchover to a small petrol car with my driving being just 10 kms a day ,, 20 kms on weekend .. 2-3 100 kms outside city drives .. pls suggest .. in AMT i am eyeing Celerio Zxi , automatic or even Alto Top end or Swift

@docsanj Celerio is better than Alto and swift. If your budget allows just check Baleno amt is very smooth 4 cyl good for city and highways .

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris petrol is a good option, unless rear seat headroom and space are very important, in which case the Grand Vitara would be better.Mechanically, both the Vitara and Victoris are similar underneath, but the Victoris gets a slightly more premium interior and a better feature set at a similar price. Since your running isn't very high, you do not need to go for the hybrid; the regular naturally aspirated petrol engine would do fine, and it's smooth, refined and well-suited to your usage. If you want something smaller and easier to drive in the city, the Brezza is also worth considering, but the Victoris offers a more premium experience and better long-distance comfort.

I understand that the Creta is the more established one, but with Honda, the value it brings is amazing, while the price of the Creta is a bit higher than the value it offers. Help me choose the right car for my usage. Please be practical and challenge my assumptions. My situation: I am 31 and work as a software developer. It is also backed by Maruti's widespread support network, and the ownership experience is likely to be fuss-free. The on-road cost of the Brezza LXI will fall within your Rs 9 lakh budget, and even though you might miss a few features, it still feels worth opting for. Alternatively, you could also consider the Maruti Dzire VXI MT for its large boot, comfy ride and strong fuel efficiency.
