Hi everyone, I am considering buying either the Renault Duster Techno Plus Turbo Petrol or the Kia Seltos HTX CVT Automatic. My usage will be around 60% city and 40% highway driving. My main priorities are reliability, low maintenance, good after-sales service, comfort, and overall ownership experience. Which one would you recommend and why? Owners' feedback on long-term reliability, service quality, and maintenance costs would be greatly appreciated.

For your priorities, we would lean towards the Kia Seltos HTX CVT. The new Renault Duster is an impressive product. It rides exceptionally well, the turbo petrol engine is strong, and it has a more rugged SUV character than the Seltos. If driving feel and ride comfort are your top priorities, the Duster makes a very strong case. The Renault Duster mileage is claimed at 19.41kpl for the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol manual, while the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol delivers 17.75kpl to 18.45kpl, depending on the transmission.

However, when you specifically mention reliability, low maintenance, after-sales service and overall ownership experience, the Seltos comes out ahead. Kia's service network is larger, ownership costs are more predictable, and the brand has built a strong reputation for customer satisfaction. The naturally aspirated petrol paired with the CVT is also a relatively stress-free powertrain for long-term ownership.

The Seltos is also likely to feel more premium on a daily basis. Interior fit and finish, feature count and overall refinement are all areas where it has an edge. The rear seat is also more accommodating than the Renault car.

There are two school of thoughts to choose between Creta and Seltos For Seltos the argument is like, it's built on the new platform and is safer snd has a better interior but despite that the Creta is a kore tried and tested model. No influencers advocates for Creta in social media perhaps because they won't get commission on a car that sells by itself. But, again there sre opinions that Creta is a great Diesel car bit not a good petrol car. Which automatic car should really be the buyer's choice given the driving will be 90% in NCR.Every major thing matters Mileage, service cost and comfortable interiors and smooth overtaking. I am currently driving a 2013 Honda City i-VTEC. I don’t have frequent usage, with around 30-40 km of running per week and rare highway trips. There are seven members in my family, so I want to upgrade to a car with good reliability, features, low maintenance costs, and better resale value, with a budget of Rs. 20 lakh. I am confused between the Seltos and the Hyryder. Should I also consider the XUV 7XO or Alcazar, or are there any other options I should consider?

The Clavis wasn’t part of your shortlist, but with seven members in the family, it is worth adding to the list. It makes more sense than the Seltos or Hyryder because you get a genuinely usable third row without making a major compromise on your budget, as it is around the same price. It also suits your very low running costs better than a hybrid, while offering easy city driving and relatively low running and maintenance costs.If you specifically want an SUV, the Mahindra XUV 7XO would be the next option. It offers stronger performance, a more substantial SUV feel and better highway ability, although it is larger and will cost more to run.The Seltos and Hyryder remain good five-seaters, but with seven people in the family, the third row will eventually become a requirement rather than a luxury.

I am looking to buy a petrol automatic SUV primarily for city use, with occasional highway trips. I have shortlisted the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Zeta AT mild-hybrid and Kia Seltos HTK(O). Both the Elevate and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder mild hybrid use naturally aspirated petrol engines, but the Elevate’s 1.5-litre engine is more refined, and the CVT gearbox is silky smooth, making it a more relaxed car to drive in everyday conditions. The Elevate also benefits from Honda’s strong reputation for long-term reliability and low maintenance costs, which is exactly what you want from a naturally aspirated petrol automatic. The Hyryder is still a good car, but the Elevate is the more complete package for this brief.

I am new to driving and am looking for a sub-4-metre petrol SUV with a torque converter automatic gearbox. My budget is around Rs 12-13 lakh on-road. I have shortlisted two options: the Skoda Kylaq Signature automatic and the Mahindra XUV 3XO MX2 Pro automatic. We are a family of five. My current usage is mostly within the city, but based on my future work requirements, it could shift to an 80:20 mix of city and highway driving.

For a new driver with predominantly city use, its 1.0 TSI with a 6-speed torque-converter automatic is smooth and easy to drive, while the compact dimensions make it relatively easy to manage in traffic. It also has a more mature, planted feel on the highway.The Mahindra XUV 3XO MX2 Pro AT is the better choice if rear-seat space is the priority. Its cabin is wider and more accommodating for a family of five, and its 1.2 turbo-petrol makes 200Nm, giving it stronger low-end and mid-range performance than the Kylaq.However, the 3XO's boot is also one of its compromises, while the Kylaq offers a better balance of driving dynamics, boot space and highway manners. Which car should I buy among Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Petrol base or Kia Seltos petrol base? And also tell me if anyone has faced power issue or pickup issue while overtaking as I want the car for long term.

Between the two, the Seltos is the better choice, especially if you are looking at the base variant. It feels more premium, is the newer product and offers a more complete package even in its lower variants.The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol makes 115hp and 144Nm. It isn't a particularly powerful engine, but it is smooth and refined and is perfectly adequate for normal city driving.For overtaking, it won't have the punch of the Seltos turbo, but it isn't underpowered either. With a full load and during quick highway overtakes, you may need to plan ahead and use higher revs. The Grand Vitara's 1.5 petrol is also a smooth, simple powertrain, but its performance is more relaxed and the base variant is quite sparsely equipped.
