Hi Sir/Madam, Thank you for your valuable assistance and advice. I am planning to buy an EV and have been considering the MG Windsor Pro Exclusive. However, I have held off my decision after coming across several reviews mentioning a stiff suspension and not-so-effective air conditioning. Could you please advise whether these are real deal-breakers, or if there are better alternatives I should consider? My usage will be approximately 30% city and 70% highway.

We would recommend the MG Windsor. Within your budget, you should be able to get the top variant with all the features, along with the larger 52kWh battery pack. This battery should comfortably handle your daily 200km city commute with the AC running. In real-world conditions, the Windsor offers a range of well over 300km on a full charge. The car is comfortable and easy to drive; however, with most of the controls, like even outside rear view mirror adjustment located within the touchscreen, it's not a user-friendly experience. That aside, the space is plenty, and the ride is comfortable enough over bad city roads. As an option, you could consider the Hyundai Creta EV. At around Rs 20 lakh, you would be able to buy the base variant. While you will miss out on some features, you will still get a car that is very easy to drive. It has light controls, a well-tuned suspension, and a smoothly calibrated powertrain.

The Tata Curvv EV is now sensibly priced after the recent correction. It is a well-equipped car with a decent real-world range and good value for money. However, it still suffers from a mediocre rear-seat experience and Tata’s lingering reputation for minor niggles, despite the company’s efforts to improve overall reliability.The VinFast VF 6 is also an exceptional value and the most powerful and engaging to drive of the three, but its cabin feels quite ordinary and lacks the premium, feel-good factor you might expect at this price. In addition, the brand is still very new in India, and the service network is relatively limited, which could be a concern for long-term, fuss-free ownership.The MG Windsor Exclusive Pro EV stands out as the best all-rounder here, with a spacious and comfortable interior, easy, relaxed driving manners and a relatively hassle-free ownership experience backed by MG’s more established sales and service network. For a long-term, low-niggle EV, this is the one we would lean towards.

We would suggest the Honda Amaze CVT as the primary pick. Since you already have a large SUV, this second car’s job is to be an easy, fuss-free city runabout, and the Amaze fits that brief really well. It gives you a proper automatic rather than an AMT, so smoothness in stop-and-go traffic is far better, and the latest Amaze has a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating, making it a strong fit given your safety priority.If you would prefer something hatchback or compact SUV-like, the Tata Punch AMT is worth considering, but the gearbox simply is not as smooth or polished as the Honda’s CVT.If you are open to electric cars and have reliable home charging, a Tiago EV is actually a very smart fit for this exact use case because your usage is overwhelmingly city based. That said, if you are specifically considering the Tiago EV, we would suggest waiting a little, as an update is expected and could bring better range value.
