I am planning to buy the Kia Seltos HTK, but I am confused between the Black and Morning Haze colour options. Please suggest which one would be better.

For daily use in Indian conditions, you should pick the Kia Seltos HTK in Morning Haze. The lighter shade will be much easier for you to live with as it hides dust, light scratches and swirl marks better than black, and the cabin will also stay slightly cooler when parked outside in the sun. It is also a classy, neutral colour that ages well and tends to remain easier to maintain over the years.

Black, on the other hand, will give your Kia car stronger road presence and a sharper, more premium look, especially with the chrome detailing. But you will need to be prepared for more upkeep, as dust shows up very quickly, small scratches become more visible and the cabin will feel hotter after sitting outside.

I am currently driving a Grand i10 petrol (2014 model). I would like to buy a new car under a budget of around 20 lakhs. My running is 30% on highway and 70% in the city. I want to buy a car that is comfortable for the driver as well as for the passengers. The car should be modern, feels fun to drive and is fuel efficient too. Which cars should I consider?

Coming from a Grand i10 and with a 70 percent city, 30 percent highway usage pattern, the Seltos 1.5 petrol IVT would be the best all round upgrade around your Rs 20 lakh budget. It offers a comfortable and spacious cabin, smooth automatic, good refinement and enough performance for everyday driving, while being more fuel efficient than the turbo petrol alternatives. It also feels considerably more modern than your current car without becoming difficult to drive in the city. In our testing the Seltos IVT returned 9.27kpl in the city and 14.76kpl on the highway for the petrol automatic.The Skoda Kushaq 1.5 TSI DSG would be the choice if fun to drive is more important. It is the most engaging SUV here, with strong performance and excellent highway manners, and it was also the most fuel efficient of the turbo petrol SUVs. You can get the Sportline variant with DCT in your budget.

I test-drove both the Kia Seltos GTX(A) IVT and the Hyundai Creta N10 Turbo DCT. For some reason, the Creta felt more balanced over rough roads and was also quieter. I initially wanted to purchase the HTX(A) Turbo DCT, but it wasn't available for a test drive. Now, I'm confused about two things: Seltos vs Creta and manual vs DCT. Around 60-70% of my driving will be in the city, but I still want a punchy engine. Having driven manual cars for years, I've always enjoyed them and am comfortable with them. However, considering the advancements in automatic transmissions in 2026 and the fact that I plan to keep the car for 7-8 years, a DCT seems like a convenient option. I'm now unsure which combination would be the right choice for my needs. What would you recommend?

Go for the Kia Seltos HTX(A) Turbo DCT as it strikes the best balance for your needs. The turbo petrol engine is punchy and enjoyable, while the DCT makes city driving far less tiring than a manual. You enjoy manuals, but with 60-70% city usage and a 7-8 year ownership horizon, the convenience of an automatic becomes hard to ignore. The Seltos also feels slightly more premium inside than the Hyundai Creta, and the HTX(A) is a well-equipped variant without pushing the budget too far. The Creta is also the older model, and the next-gen version is right around the corner. The difference in terms of stability and ride comfort between both is marginal, and the Seltos counters that with a more premium cabin and a slightly wider rear seat. The IVT is smooth but lacks the punch you are looking for, while the DCT delivers the performance you want without the fatigue of a manual. Overall, the Seltos HTX(A) Turbo DCT is the most complete package for your usage pattern and long-term ownership plans.

I am confused between Creta SX IVT and Elevate CVT for 8000 km of annual running with long trips of 1200 km 3-4 times in a year for a family of 4. Apart from this, day to day usage is less than 100km per month. I am looking for a car for long term ownership and travel comfort.

The Creta SX IVT is the better fit for your requirement. It offers a quieter, more refined cabin, comfortable rear seats and a smoother CVT, which are particularly valuable when spending several hours on the highway with four people and luggage. Autocar's long term experience with the Creta petrol IVT also found it refined, comfortable and particularly well suited to road trips.The Honda Elevate CVT has advantages of its own. Its 220mm ground clearance, long travel suspension and large 458-litre boot make it particularly good on poor roads, while its naturally aspirated 1.5-litre engine and CVT make for a relatively simple powertrain. However, the cabin is noticeably noisier, particularly when accelerating hard, and the CVT can produce the typical rubber band effect.

Hi, I am planning to buy a CNG SUV and am considering the Tata Nexon CNG and Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG.
