I want to buy a 5-seater SUV. My usage is mostly in the city, around 300 km a month. I’m looking for something a level above the Tata Nexon in both budget and size. What would you recommend?

In the midsize SUV segment, you have several good options. The Hyundai Creta is a segment favourite and for good reason - it is a great all-rounder and offers a wide array of engines and gearboxes. This Hyundai car is spacious, comfortable, practical, and loaded with features too.

You could also wait for the new Tata Sierra, which is launching next month.

Considering your usage is so minimal, however, you could even consider an EV, which has the lowest running costs and the smoothest drive experience. The Creta Electric, like its ICE counterparts, is a great option, or if your budget is tighter, consider the MG Windsor.

Asked by: Siva Hi team, I am planning to buy new compact SUV under 20 lakhs, confused between New Hyundai venue petrol dct and diesel tc. I heard diesel is not fuel efficient and dct is overheating if we drive more in traffic. I prefer diesel cars but iam not able to find a better mileage diesel automatic cars in the segment. I am open to any other compact SUV that should feature tech listed, fuel efficient, long engine lifespan, mainly should be sub 4 meter. Please suggest. The Hyundai Venue with a diesel-automatic powertrain is efficient, but it would be more efficient with a manual gearbox. However, compared to a petrol-DCT, the diesel will definitely be better if mileage is the priority. The other option would be the Tata Nexon, which also has a frugal diesel engine. The downside, is the AMT gearbox that isn't as smooth or efficient as the torque converter on the Venue. The Hyundai car also has more features, a well-sorted and high-quality cabin and a better after-sales network.

It has a refined and powerful six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that offers an excellent driving experience, but at the same time, the long wheelbase allows it to have fantastic legroom at the rear. If you want to be chauffeur-driven but also enjoy driving by yourself, the 330Li will offer the best of both worlds.

Asked by: Manish I want to buy a seven-seater car in the ₹50-60 lakh budget range, with good mileage and power. Should I opt for the Fortuner or consider some other car? While the Toyota Fortuner has strong road presence and a powerful image, it does not offer a premium and sophisticated experience that is expected of the price. The Skoda Kodiaq would be a better choice as it has the right level of premiumness and performance, and is a lot more comfortable than the Fortuner. Mileage numbers will be similar for both SUVs, but the diesel engine in the Fortuner would be a bit easier on the pocket. Our recommendation would be the Skoda Kodiaq as it offers better value and is a better product overall.
