My budget is Rs 12 lakh and I want to buy a petrol-automatic car that gives good mileage and has less maintenance.

AAA The Honda City petrol-automatic would be our pick as it is easy to drive, very reliable and pretty fuel efficient too. Also, the resale value is quite good when it’s time to sell. The City, however, may be a little beyond your budget, and if you can’t stretch beyond Rs 12 lakh, then the Honda Amaze is a good option as well. We find that the Honda’s CVT system is a more efficient, responsive and reliable transmission, compared to the other automatic transmissions in rival cars.
